Among the most common mistakes American tourists make while visiting the UK is to forget which way to look for oncoming traffic when crossing a street. We are all used to the left-right-left approach to an intersection, but since cars travel in the opposite directions on UK streets, tourists often revert to their customary practice and forget to look right BEFORE stepping off the curb.
