Look Right!

Among the most common mistakes American tourists make while visiting the UK is to forget which way to look for oncoming traffic when crossing a street.  We are all used to the left-right-left approach to an intersection, but since cars travel in the opposite directions on UK streets, tourists often revert to their customary practice and forget to look right BEFORE stepping off the curb.

When I was in middle school my neighbor was hit by a double-decker bus while visiting London.  She spent 6 weeks in a hospital and walked with a cane after her injury.  I know we will all be excited to visit Edinburgh and Glasgow, but it is imperative that you keep your wits about you.  Let’s don’t let a simple mistake ruin an amazing trip!
